We are seeking an IT Infrastructure Administrator to support and maintain the technology infrastructure of an established manufacturing organization. This hands-on position involves a combination of systems administration, hardware and software support, troubleshooting, cybersecurity, and day-to-day IT operations.

The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded IT professional who enjoys working across multiple technical disciplines, can independently troubleshoot and resolve problems, and is comfortable supporting both infrastructure and end users. This individual will work closely with the IT Manager as part of a small IT team.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IT infrastructure, including computer systems, hardware, software, and related technologies.
• Provide hands-on technical support to employees, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, operating system, connectivity, and general IT issues.
• Assist with the administration, monitoring, and maintenance of servers, operating systems, and other IT infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot system performance issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions to maintain reliable IT operations.
• Support system upgrades, software updates, patch management, migrations, and other infrastructure maintenance activities.
• Assist with networking, connectivity, cybersecurity, and the implementation of established IT security policies and procedures.
• Support backup, recovery, and system reliability initiatives as needed.
• Maintain technical documentation, including system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and infrastructure records.
• Work directly with the IT Manager to prioritize technical issues, support infrastructure improvements, and address evolving business technology needs.
• Provide general IT assistance across the organization, balancing day-to-day user support with ongoing infrastructure responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Professional experience in IT infrastructure administration, systems administration, technical support, or a related hands-on IT position.
• Experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer hardware, software, operating systems, and related IT infrastructure.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently, including problems involving multiple systems or technologies.
• Experience providing technical support to end users in a business environment.
• Working knowledge of operating system administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals, communication protocols, and basic cybersecurity principles.
• Experience supporting system maintenance, upgrades, patching, or other infrastructure-related activities.
• Ability to manage multiple technical responsibilities, prioritize issues, and adapt to changing business needs.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and nontechnical employees.
• Comfortable working in a small IT environment where responsibilities extend across several areas of technology.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience supporting Microsoft Windows Server environments.
• Experience administering Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Group Policy, or Microsoft 365.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery, endpoint protection, or network security technologies.
• Experience supporting IT infrastructure within a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment.
