Job Summary

The Test Engineer is responsible for supporting Samtec HDR (High Data Rate) Cable Assembly Work Center for all Cable Electrical Testing processes.

Functions

• Design Test Tooling assemblies (PCBs, jumpers, connectors, ejectors) for Electrical Test of new products (FTB).
• Review the design of printed circuit boards and fixtures for Electrical Test of First Time Build of HDR cable product and feedback findings to designer.
• Create Process Documentation for Electrical Test processes.
• Create and qualify Test Programs for Electrical Test.
• Cooperate with SIG ATG to assemble, debug, qualify new Test Systems.
• Support production floor for troubleshooting Low and High-Speed Test systems.
• Perform failure analysis of Electrical Test failed product and determine root cause with support from Global Samtec teams.
• Cooperate with global Samtec teams to maintain Samtec HDR product serialization system.
• Part number creation and configuration in Samtec serialization and tracking software.
• Cooperate with control engineer, process engineer, manufacturing engineer for transfer project & sustaining improvement project on Electrical Test side.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Advanced English level (mandatory).
• Experience in creating and maintaining serialization scripting with Python and C++ (mandatory).
• At least 5 years of expereince working on PCB board design (mandatory).
• Experience in engineering design software with SolidWorks, AutoCAD (mandatory).
• Knowledge of PCB manufacturing process.
• Knowledge in electrical test such as LSET, HSET, signal integrity test (mandatory).
• Reading and interpreting schematics, datasheets; troubleshoot to component level (mandatory).
• Previous hands-on, on-site engineering experience in a manufacturing or production environment (highly valued).
• Strong interpersonal, technical, verbal, and written communication skills are a must.
• Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes, and not suffer from any sensory deprivation and/or paralysis of the limbs.
