About Scrumconnect Consulting

Scrumconnect Consulting is a multi-award-winning digital consultancy, recognised for delivering impactful and innovative technology solutions across UK government departments. Our work has positively influenced the lives of over 40 million UK citizens.

We are passionate about user-centred design, agile delivery, and building digital services that make a real difference. Our teams work at the forefront of innovation, helping organisations transform and deliver high-quality, scalable solutions that truly matter.

The Role

You'll own the product direction for the playbook rebuild and help shape product ideas for a tech analysis product as it moves through discovery and test and learn. The playbook runs on WordPress, and the target platform and re-platforming requirements are still to be confirmed, so you'll help settle that decision. You'll make sure the work follows the business case, meets user needs, and leaves a clear vision and roadmap for the permanent team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and communicate the product vision, strategy and roadmap for the playbook, leaving an open roadmap for future content.
  • Work with the client to confirm the target platform and help shape the re-platforming requirements.
  • Prioritise the backlog based on user research, sector engagement and what keeps councils operationally safe, compliant and resilient.
  • Shape product ideas with the tech analysis team during discovery and test and learn, deciding what to pursue and what to stop.
  • Define how the playbook stays a living resource, including how councils contribute and how contributions are reviewed.
  • Align the work with wider programme workstreams and activity.
  • Work with the delivery manager, business analyst, designers, developer and architect to get a secure, assured product live.
  • Report progress and risks to senior stakeholders, and engage councils, partners and peers.
  • Prepare the handover so the permanent team inherits a clear strategy, backlog and decision history.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • SC cleared, active SC or SC eligible.
  • Substantial experience as a product manager on digital services, with clear evidence of outcomes.
  • Experience owning a content-led product or website on WordPress, including working with web developers within the platform's constraints.
  • Experience setting product vision and strategy and turning them into a prioritised roadmap.
  • Strong understanding of user-centred design and working with user research.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary agile teams and managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience managing a product through discovery, alpha, beta and live, including service assessments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.

Desirable

  • Experience of products built on the GOV.UK platform and Design System.
  • Understanding of the GOV.UK Service Standard.
  • Experience in UK government, local government or the wider public sector.
  • Experience managing community-contributed or content-led products.
  • Familiarity with data products and discovery work.
  • Understanding of cyber and technology risk in the public sector.
