About the role
Sportradar supplies betting operators around the world with odds and trading services. Our clients share a portion of the revenue generated from bets placed through our services and, as part of their contract with Sportradar, are required to report all relevant betting activity to us. Revenue Protection Team makes sure this activity is reported accurately and in line with those contractual obligations.
You will work with large sets of client betting data to identify gaps, discrepancies or unusual patterns and investigate their cause. You will determine what the contract requires, gather the supporting evidence and estimate the potential commercial impact. You will build a clear case for Sales and Legal to take forward with the client, then follow each case through to resolution and measure the outcome.
This is not a trading role. You will not be pricing markets or managing betting liabilities. The focus is on data investigation, building evidence and revenue recovery.
THE CHALLENGE
- Analyse client betting data to spot anomalies and changes in behaviour.
- Compare clients against their peers and against their own history to tell a real problem from a seasonal or market effect.
- Build the evidence behind each finding so that it stands up to challenge.
- Estimate the revenue impact of an infringement using a clear and defensible method.
- Write short, precise findings for non-technical stakeholders in Sales, Legal and management.
- Build and improve the tools the team uses for recurring checks, including AI assisted ones.
- Follow a case through to resolution and measure the uplift afterwards.
ABOUT YOU
- 2+ years of experience in a data-led investigative role. Experience in betting or sports data is preferred, but we also welcome strong backgrounds in fraud, risk, financial crime, payments, revenue assurance, trading risk, integrity or similar areas.
- Proven ability to uncover wrongdoing, non-compliance or revenue leakage through data analysis, from the first signal to an evidenced and quantified conclusion.
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, cleaning and reconciling large datasets, and building calculations that others can review and validate. Your Excel skills will be assessed as part of the interview process.
- Working knowledge of SQL, with the ability to pull, filter and aggregate data from large tables independently.
- Clear and concise writing skills, with the ability to explain complex findings to people who may not know the underlying data.
- Curiosity and persistence, with the drive to keep digging until the explanation holds.
- An interest in using and building tools, including AI, to work more effectively, applying them alongside your own knowledge, skills and informed judgement rather than as a substitute for them.
Nice to have
- Python for data analysis.
- Power BI or a similar tool.
- Experience writing to or dealing with external clients on contractual matters.
OUR OFFER
- A collaborative environment with colleagues from all over the world (Offices in Europe, Asia and US) including various social events and teambuilding.
- Flexibility to manage your workday and tasks with autonomy.
- A balance of structure and autonomy to tackle your daily tasks.
- Vibrant and inclusive community, including Women in Tech and Pride groups which welcome all participants.
- Global Employee Assistance Programme.
- Calm and Reulay app (leading well-being apps designed to support focus, quality rest, mindfulness, and long-term mental resilience).
- Online training videos.
- Flexible working hours.
While we appreciate the flexibility and benefits of working from home, we strongly believe that coming together in person fosters stronger connections, encourages collaboration, and drives innovation—both as individuals and as a company. The energy, shared ideas, and team support we experience in the office strengthen the foundation of our success and culture. For this reason, we are an office-first business operating on a fully on-site model, with team members working in the office five days a week to build relationships, exchange ideas, and grow together.
Please note that we are not able to offer visa sponsorship for this role, so you would need to have the appropriate right to work in place.
OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS
- Initial Screening: A quick chat with our Talent Acquisition Partner to understand your background and expectations.
- Team interview: with the Revenue Protection manager and senior members of the wider team about your experience, how you investigate, and how you would fit in the team.
- Final interview onsite: technical exercise completed live with the team in our office, using a realistic dataset. No AI tools for this stage, we want to see how you work through the data and reach your conclusions.
- Final Steps: Receive feedback and, if successful, an offer!
