Middleware Engineer

Job Summary

Stratacent is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Middleware Engineer with over 8 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing middleware solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in middleware platforms such as WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss, Apache Kafka, IBM MQ, and API Gateways, and will play a key role in ensuring seamless integration between enterprise applications and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain middleware platforms to support enterprise application integration.
• Develop and manage APIs, messaging systems, and service-oriented architecture (SOA) components.
• Monitor middleware performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Collaborate with application developers, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to implement scalable solutions.
• Automate deployment and configuration processes using tools like Ansible, Jenkins, or Terraform.
• Ensure security, compliance, and governance of middleware environments.
• Participate in capacity planning, disaster recovery, and performance tuning.
• Document architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in middleware technologies such as:
• WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat
• Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, IBM MQ
• API Management tools (Apigee, Kong, MuleSoft, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and scripting (Shell, Python).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud integration.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Middleware certifications (e.g., Oracle WebLogic, Red Hat JBoss).
• Experience with microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and Agile methodologies.
