Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Data Center Network Engineer to join an international team supporting network infrastructure across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.

You will contribute to a major Data Center transformation and migration programme.

Reporting to the CTO, you will work in a highly automated environment combining Cisco ACI and VMware NSX, with extensive use of Terraform and Python and an increasing focus on NetDevOps practices.

As a Network Engineer Expert at Ivy Partners, you will:

• Engineer, manage, and enhance network infrastructure across international Data Centers.
• Contribute to Data Center migration, consolidation, and transformation projects.
• Maintain and evolve routing, switching, and network virtualisation solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues across underlay and overlay layers, ensuring reliable connectivity.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using Terraform, Python, and scripting.
• Support the adoption of NetDevOps practices to improve consistency and efficiency across network operations.
• Collaborate with international technical teams to deliver solutions aligned with a common global architecture.

About You

You are our ideal candidate if you

• At least 8 years of hands-on experience in network engineering, with strong expertise in routing and switching.
• Solid knowledge of networking protocols, particularly BGP and OSPF.
• Proven experience working with Data Center network infrastructure.
• A strong understanding of underlay and overlay architectures and how physical and virtual network layers interact.
• Experience with network virtualisation.
• Practical knowledge of infrastructure automation and scripting, particularly Terraform and Python.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to investigate issues across multiple network layers.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within an international, geographically distributed team.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cisco ACI and/or VMware NSX.
• Previous involvement in Data Center migrations or infrastructure transformation programmes.
• Familiarity with NetDevOps practices.
• Cisco certifications such as CCNP or CCIE.
