Job Description

Seeking a Computational Scientist to work on multimodal perturbation datasets in a computational biology research environment. The role involves training and evaluating deep learning models to understand how different components of multimodal datasets contribute to model performance.

Responsibilities include designing controlled train/test split experiments, analyzing model outputs, and validating computational results against experimental data. The scientist will work with an established analysis codebase and SLURM-based cluster computing environment.

Education

• PhD in a computational discipline or equivalent research experience.
• Preferred majors: Computational Biology, Computational Science, Statistics, or Machine Learning.

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience training and evaluating deep learning models using PyTorch.
• Experience designing and executing controlled train/test split experiments.
• Proficiency in scientific Python, including NumPy, pandas, and Scanpy/AnnData.
• Strong applied statistics and model evaluation expertise.
• Experience running computational experiments on SLURM clusters.
• Reproducible and documented scientific data analysis.

Preferred Skills

• Single-cell transcriptomics analysis.
• CRISPR perturbation screen analysis, including Perturb-seq.
• Representation learning.
• Image analysis.
