Java SRE Telemetry Engineer

Job Description

​We are seeking a talented Java SRE Telemetry Engineer to design| develop| and support observability and telemetry solutions for large-scale enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate will combine expertise in Java development| Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)| monitoring| telemetry| observability| automation| and cloud technologies to ensure high system availability| reliability| and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Design| develop| and maintain telemetry instrumentation for Java-based applications.

Implement observability solutions using logs| metrics| traces| and events.

Develop and optimize monitoring frameworks to proactively identify system issues.

Build dashboards| alerts| and service health monitoring solutions.

Integrate OpenTelemetry and distributed tracing across enterprise services.

Analyze application performance and troubleshoot production incidents.

Collaborate with development| infrastructure| cloud| and operations teams to improve reliability.

Define and maintain Service Level Indicators (SLIs)| Service Level Objectives (SLOs)| and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Automate operational workflows and incident response processes.

Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.

Enhance platform reliability| scalability| and resiliency.

Contribute to capacity planning| disaster recovery| and performance optimization initiatives.

Telemetry & Observability

Design and implement telemetry solutions for Java-based applications and distributed systems.

Develop metrics, logs, traces, and monitoring frameworks using industry-standard observability platforms.

Configure and maintain OpenTelemetry instrumentation across applications and services.

Build dashboards, alerts, and reporting mechanisms to provide operational visibility.

Analyze system behavior and identify performance bottlenecks using telemetry data.

Site Reliability Engineering

Define and track Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and Error Budgets.

Improve application availability, resiliency, scalability, and reliability.

Automate incident detection, root cause analysis, and operational processes.

Participate in production support, incident management, and post-incident reviews.

Implement proactive monitoring and alerting strategies.

Java Development

Develop and enhance Java-based applications and telemetry integrations.

Optimize application performance through profiling and performance tuning.

Create reusable frameworks, libraries, and APIs for observability and monitoring.

Develop automation tools using Java and scripting languages.

Cloud & DevOps

Deploy and manage telemetry solutions across cloud environments.

Integrate observability tools within CI/CD pipelines.

Collaborate with DevOps, Platform Engineering, and Development teams to ensure reliability best practices.

Support containerized and microservices-based architectures.
