We are seeking an experienced Security Architect to lead the design and implementation of secure technology solutions across complex enterprise environments.

The successful candidate will work across both on-premises and cloud environments, providing security architecture guidance, assessing risks and vulnerabilities, and ensuring security is embedded throughout the design and delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and architect security solutions aligned with business requirements, security strategy and industry best practices.
  • Develop and maintain security reference architectures, standards and architectural patterns.
  • Review existing security measures and recommend improvements to strengthen the organisation's overall security posture.
  • Review solution and project designs to identify security risks and ensure appropriate security controls are incorporated.
  • Conduct security assessments, vulnerability reviews and risk analysis to identify and mitigate potential threats.
  • Assess the effectiveness of security controls across cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Review and provide architectural guidance for security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs and network security solutions.
  • Work closely with project managers, developers, infrastructure teams, system administrators and security teams to ensure security is embedded throughout technology delivery.
  • Review security incidents, provide technical analysis and recommend appropriate remediation.
  • Develop and maintain incident response and disaster recovery plans and contribute to security testing and simulation exercises.
  • Support the development and implementation of security policies, procedures and standards.
  • Ensure security solutions and practices align with relevant regulatory, compliance and legislative requirements.
  • Review project artefacts and provide security architecture guidance throughout the solution lifecycle.
  • Research emerging security threats, technologies and solutions and recommend improvements where appropriate.
  • Provide guidance, knowledge sharing and mentorship to other security professionals.
  • Promote security best practices and provide security guidance and awareness across the organisation.

Essential Experience

  • Strong experience working as a Security Architect, Cyber Security Architect or in a comparable senior security role.
  • Demonstrable experience designing and architecting enterprise security solutions.
  • Strong understanding of security architecture principles, standards and industry best practices.
  • Experience designing security controls across cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Strong experience conducting security assessments, vulnerability reviews and risk analysis.
  • Experience reviewing existing security architectures and recommending appropriate improvements.
  • Strong knowledge of network security, including firewalls, VPNs and associated security controls.
  • Experience integrating security requirements into technology projects and solution designs.
  • Experience with security incident response, investigation, remediation and post-incident analysis.
  • Understanding of disaster recovery and security resilience principles.
  • Experience developing or contributing to security policies, procedures, standards and reference architectures.
  • Understanding of security-related regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience developing enterprise security strategies and security roadmaps.
  • Experience working within complex or highly regulated enterprise environments.
  • Experience supporting large-scale technology transformation or cloud programmes.
  • Experience developing security architecture patterns and reusable security standards.
  • Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other security professionals.
  • Relevant professional security or architecture certifications.
