The Pre purchase Experience Platform team at Walmart is dedicated to providing a seamless and delightful shopping experience to millions of shoppers worldwide. As a software engineering leader in this team, you will have the opportunity to work on platform components and systems which help run the Walmart eCommerce and Walmart systems . This collaborative team made up of Engineering, UX, Product Management, Business is rapidly iterating on new products and features at scale. We are seeking a highly skilled, professional, and dynamic Senior Manager for our Software Engineering team. The chosen individual will be responsible for managing and overseeing the development and maintenance of software applications supporting our ecommerce platform. This includes CMS application that support front-end applications for iOS, Android, Web, orchestration layer, and backend systems ( Java, Golang, nodejs)

What you will do

• Manage the software development team, including hiring, training, and conducting performance evaluations.
• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of software applications for the ecommerce.
• Supervise the development of the orchestration layer, backend systems ( Java) to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
• Work closely with other teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Maintain a high level of technical expertise and industry knowledge, staying up to date with the latest technologies and trends.
• Develop project timelines, allocate resources effectively, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Ensure software applications comply with quality standards and meet customer expectations.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including product managers, designers, and other engineering teams, to deliver high-quality software solutions.

What'll you bring

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology
• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the ecommerce industry.
• Extensive knowledge of orchestration layer, and backend systems, CMS Tools and how they support development of mobile application (iOS, Android), web applications,
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate a team.
• Excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a creative approach to overcoming challenges.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
• Strong knowledge of M*N matrix management.
• Ability to foster innovation and engineering excellence within a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
• Familiarity with ecommerce platforms is a plus.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Option 2

7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area. 2 years’ supervisory experience.
