About the Role

YETI is seeking a hands-on Senior Shopify Developer to help own and evolve yeti.co.jp. You will deliver new customer-facing capabilities while providing production support for defects, incidents and integration issues.

The storefront operates within YETI’s Shopify / Boomi / SAP commerce landscape. You will own troubleshooting and development for Shopify themes, apps, APIs, webhooks, configuration and storefront behavior—while partnering with Boomi, SAP, QA, product and business teams when issues cross system boundaries. This is not a Boomi or SAP developer role.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, test and release Shopify storefront features using Liquid, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
• Maintain reusable, responsive and accessible theme components that support a high-quality Japanese customer experience.
• Own complex Shopify production incidents and break/fix work: reproduce issues, inspect logs and API behavior, isolate root causes, implement safe fixes and document follow-up actions.
• Troubleshoot Shopify-side interfaces for orders, products, pricing, inventory, fulfillment, returns, refunds and payment-related flows; coordinate effectively with Boomi and SAP owners.
• Integrate and support Shopify applications, APIs, GraphQL operations and webhooks, with attention to authentication, rate limits, error handling and maintainability.
• Set and reinforce engineering standards for testing, code review, performance, security, observability, documentation, Git workflows and CI/CD.
• Protect storefront quality through page-speed optimization, Core Web Vitals, technical SEO, accessibility, cross-browser testing and disciplined third-party-script usage.
• Provide technical estimates and solution options, surface implementation risks early, and explain trade-offs to technical and nontechnical partners.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of professional web or software development experience, including 3+ years of significant hands-on Shopify development in production environments.
• Strong Shopify theme and Liquid expertise, including reusable sections, templates, theme settings and Online Store 2.0 concepts.
• Strong JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML5 and modern CSS skills.
• Practical experience with Shopify Admin and/or Storefront APIs, GraphQL, webhooks, metafields/metaobjects and third-party application integrations.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex issues across themes, applications, storefront configuration and external interfaces.
• Experience with Git, pull requests, code review, automated testing, deployment workflows and CI/CD.
• Sound understanding of web performance, secure development practices, accessibility and maintainable front-end architecture.
• Clear written and verbal English communication and the ability to collaborate across distributed product, design, QA, operations and engineering teams.

Preferred

• Experience with enterprise-scale Shopify implementations, Shopify Plus, Shopify Functions, Checkout Extensibility, Theme App Extensions or custom Shopify applications.
• Experience troubleshooting Shopify integrations with ERP, inventory, fulfillment, payment or middleware platforms.
• Experience supporting localized or multi-market consumer/retail storefronts
