Cyber Security Vulnerability Researcher

Bowhead is seeking a Cyber Security Vulnerability Researcher for an upcoming effort in Patuxent River, MD. The Cyber Security Vulnerability Researcher will conduct advanced research into computer and information science, cyber threats, and adversarial offensive and defensive tools, techniques, and methods. This position will identify system vulnerabilities and develop technical solutions to improve the security and resiliency of military weapons systems and supporting IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Research cyber threats and adversarial offensive and defensive tools, techniques, and methods.
• Identify and analyze vulnerabilities in computer hardware, software, and information systems.
• Develop mitigation solutions to address identified cyber vulnerabilities.
• Research and evaluate emerging cyber technologies and techniques.
• Support the development of defensive cyber capabilities and security solutions.
• Conduct technical research to address complex cybersecurity challenges.
• Support cyber warfare research, development, testing, and evaluation activities.
• Serve as the functional team lead, coordinating and overseeing the work of other team members.
• Track project progress and participate in project planning, resource allocation, and event coordination.

Qualifications

• Advanced-level Navy Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) qualification.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
• At least 5 additional years of experience performing the above functions in a DoD or other Government Agency platform/weapons systems or IT infrastructure environment.
• Demonstrated experience researching cyber threats, system vulnerabilities, and offensive and defensive cyber capabilities.
• IAT Level III Certification

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

Target salary is $ 130,000 - $180,000 commensurate with experience.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS

Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret level with SCI eligibilty. US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location.
