One of our clients in the Telecommunications sector is looking for a Senior Java & IoT Engineer to design and build high‑volume, mission‑critical applications while also shaping the future of IoT integration.

Key Deliverables

• Design and develop high‑volume, low‑latency applications for mission‑critical telecom systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Contribute across all phases of the development lifecycle: design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
• Write well‑structured, testable, and efficient Java code aligned with enterprise standards.
• Integrate IoT devices and platforms into enterprise applications, enabling secure data ingestion, processing, and analytics.
• Implement IoT communication protocols (MQTT, CoAP, AMQP) and ensure interoperability with telecom infrastructure.
• Prepare and produce releases of software components, including IoT edge services and cloud integrations.
• Support continuous improvement by evaluating emerging IoT technologies, frameworks, and presenting them for architectural review.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design scalable IoT architectures, including device management, telemetry, and security.

Requirements

Ideal Profile

• At least 5 years’ experience in Java Enterprise Programming.
• BSc (Hons) degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven hands‑on software development experience with Java EE and Spring Framework (Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Security).
• Strong knowledge of Spring Integration and Spring Cloud for distributed systems.
• Object‑oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
• Experience with JEE internals (JAX‑WS, Transaction management, JMS).
• Relational Databases and SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and ORM technologies (JPA, Hibernate).
• Web frameworks (JSF, Spring MVC).
• Test‑driven development practices and GIT version control.

Core IoT Skills (Required)

• Hands‑on experience with IoT platforms (AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, or Eclipse IoT frameworks).
• Knowledge of IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP, AMQP, HTTP/REST).
• Experience with IoT edge computing and device management.
• Familiarity with IoT security practices (certificate‑based authentication, secure communication, device identity management).
• Ability to design and implement real‑time data pipelines for IoT telemetry.
