Job Summary

A Release Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the deployment of software releases into production environments. They ensure that releases are delivered on time, with minimal risk, and in alignment with business requirements and IT standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and manage software releases across multiple environments.
• Coordinate with development, testing, infrastructure, and business teams.
• Define release scope, timelines, and deployment strategies.
• Manage release calendars and communicate release activities to stakeholders.
• Conduct release readiness reviews and go/no-go meetings.
• Ensure compliance with change management and release management processes.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate release risks.
• Monitor deployments and coordinate rollback activities when required.
• Maintain release documentation, reports, and audit records.
• Drive continuous improvement in release and deployment processes.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience with ITIL Change and Release Management practices.
• Understanding of Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab.
• Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with risk management and issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in Release Management, Project Management, or IT Operations.
• ITIL Foundation certification preferred.
• PMP, Scrum Master, or Agile certifications are advantageous.

Preferred Experience

• Managing enterprise-wide application releases.
• Working in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Eligible to workP).
• Coordinating cross-functional and global teams.
• Experience with automated deployment pipelines and DevOps practices.
