Programmer Analyst II, Mainframe - Hybrid

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Programmer Analyst II, Mainframe for a hybrid position with a Regional Financial Institution located in Columbus, OH, Minneapolis, MN, Detroit, MI, or Tupelo, MS. This is a 3-month contract to hire opportunity.

Compensation

$46.00 - $56.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications

Position Overview

We are seeking a Programmer Analyst II to join a high-performing Mainframe development team supporting critical payment processing applications. This role is ideal for a junior to mid-level professional who is eager to expand their technical expertise, develop deep application knowledge, and take ownership of key development and support initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with developers, business analysts, and quality assurance teams to support application enhancements, production support activities, and project-based development efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and support mainframe-based applications
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective solutions
• Participate in application enhancements, maintenance activities, and project work
• Troubleshoot production issues and support incident resolution
• Learn and develop expertise in complex payment processing applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and QA resources
• Participate in on-call and production support rotations after onboarding and training
• Take ownership of assigned work, meet project deadlines, and proactively communicate risks or roadblocks
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and application stability initiatives

Primary Requirements

• 3-5+ years of Mainframe development and analysis experience
• Strong experience with:
• COBOL
• JCL
• CICS
• DB2
• VSAM
• Experience with source control and deployment tools such as ChangeMan or Endeavor
• Experience with job scheduling tools such as Zeke or comparable enterprise schedulers
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
• Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and willingness to learn complex business applications

Desired Skills

• Experience supporting payment processing systems
• PEP+ experience strongly preferred
• ACH payments experience
• Experience with ServiceNow, including incident and change management processes
• Exposure to production support environments and on-call support responsibilities
