A true Senior Java Engineering / Technical Delivery who writes backend services, leads client facing technical delivery, and has hands on production operations experience.

Must Have Requirements

Hands-On Java API Engineering (6–8+ yrs)

Direct experience designing, building, and maintaining production-grade Java REST APIs, microservices, and legacy JAX-WS / SOAP XML web services (not just automation scripting or API testing).

Service Virtualization (8+ yrs)

Hands-on architecture and implementation of mocks/virtual services using SmartBear ReadyAPI and WireMock to decouple unstable downstream dependencies.

Production Support and APM

Dedicated experience triaging production incidents, diagnosing performance bottlenecks, and monitoring system health using Dynatrace (or equivalent enterprise APM suites like AppDynamics/Datadog).

Delivery Oversight and Client Management

Proven ability to lead cross-functional engineering pods, manage technical dependencies, conduct code/architecture reviews, and lead executive/client communications.

Disqualifiers / Red Flags

Pure QA/QE managers or SDETs whose Java experience is strictly limited to Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, or test harnesses.

Candidates lacking hands-on implementation experience with both WireMock and SmartBear ReadyAPI.

Candidates with zero live production support or APM telemetry background (pre-prod/QA environment-only experience).

Profiles lacking strong consulting or client facing communication skills.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Delivery Lead with deep expertise in Service Virtualization and Java-based API Development to lead complex enterprise application modernization, integration, testing, and delivery initiatives. This role bridges hands-on technical architecture and delivery oversight, coordinating across cross-functional engineering, architecture, QA, and business teams. The ideal candidate will eliminate environmental bottlenecks and streamline downstream dependency testing across large-scale distributed systems.

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise service virtualization solutions using SmartBear ReadyAPI and WireMock to decouple unavailable downstream dependencies.
• Virtualize REST/SOAP APIs and complex downstream services to facilitate parallel development cycles, integration testing, and earlier defect identification.
• Provide technical leadership and governance for the design, development, integration, and troubleshooting of Java-based REST APIs, microservices, and JAX-WS integrations.
• Own technical project execution and dependency management across application development, architecture, QA, DevOps, infrastructure, and delivery teams.
• Partner with testing and performance engineering teams to define comprehensive test strategies, optimize test data, and isolate performance bottlenecks across APIs and databases.
• Serve as the senior technical escalation point for complex application, API, virtualization, and multi-environment integration issues.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Service Virtualization (8–10 years): Expert-level design and implementation using SmartBear ReadyAPI and WireMock for REST/SOAP services.
• Java & API Development (8–10 years): Strong hands-on engineering background in Java, RESTful microservices, database integration, and JAX-WS (Java API for XML Web Services - 6+ years).
• Technical Project Management (8+ years): Proven track record owning technical delivery roadmaps, cross-functional risk mitigation, and architecture coordination.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS

• Performance Testing & Engineering: Load/stress analysis and root-cause bottleneck isolation across integration layers.
• Delivery Management & CI/CD Integration: Automating testing gates and virtualization frameworks within CI/CD pipelines.
• Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Strong communication skills to liaise with client technology leadership, product owners, and enterprise architects.
• Modernization Frameworks: Experience transitioning legacy monoliths and SOAP services into decoupled microservice architectures.
