Senior Backend Engineer

Description

Our customer base has grown fast, and our platform has to grow with it. We're looking for a senior backend engineer who takes a service from idea to production on their own: designs it, builds it, ships it, and runs it. You'll work on scale, performance and reliability, and you're not afraid to open old code and make it better.

Responsibilities

• Own features and services end-to-end: design, development, deployment and production.
• Solve scale and performance challenges in a platform serving a fast-growing customer base.
• Improve and modernize existing code, not only write new code.
• Work across the stack when needed: mostly backend, with some frontend and DevOps (CI/CD, cloud, Kubernetes).
• Use AI tools and agents as a core part of how you build.
• Lead technical initiatives and raise the bar for the team.
• Take part in a shared on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on backend development on large-scale, production-grade systems.
• Strong Python and/or Go - a must.
• Excellent coding skills and a solid grasp of large-scale architecture and design patterns.
• Proven end-to-end ownership: you've led features or services from design to production.
• Daily, hands-on use of AI coding tools and agents.
• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling PostgreSQL.
• Cloud environments, containers and Kubernetes.
• CI/CD and DevOps experience.
• Network protocols and web security knowledge.
• Open-source contributions or side projects.
