Databricks Architect - Princeton, NJ - Contract - $40-50 Per HR

This role involves designing and building data solutions using a leading data platform. Located in Princeton, NJ, this contract position requires hands-on experience in data architecture and engineering, with a focus on creating self-service data environments. Candidates should have experience with data governance and AI technologies.

Description

• Lead the architecture for self-service data solutions, ensuring end-to-end data governance.
• Design a federated data architecture with shared definitions and local data management.
• Define semantic layers, common keys, and business rules for data consistency.
• Ensure seamless data integration and metric view publication without data duplication.
• Set governance models for data changes, including ownership and versioning.
• Communicate design choices effectively to business and technology leaders.
• Guide a team of engineers in implementing data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and manage data views and SQL functions for business rules.
• Configure data spaces and agents for optimized data query routing.
• Implement data federation and sharing solutions to ensure data stays in place.
• Maintain data configurations in version control systems with CI/CD practices.
• Evaluate data accuracy using machine learning tools.

Qualifications

• 10 to 12 years in data engineering and architecture, with 3+ years in a hands-on architectural role.
• 3+ years of experience with a leading data platform in production environments.
• Experience in building semantic or metrics layers used by multiple teams.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data modeling techniques.
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
