Senior Oracle DBA - Toronto, ON - Contract - $48-58 Per HR

Description

Join a dynamic team in a hybrid role based in Toronto, ON. This contract position spans 12 months and requires expertise in database administration and cloud technologies. The role involves collaborating with development teams, optimizing database performance, and leading migration projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with application development teams on data modeling, schema design, and deployment of complex database packages, procedures, triggers, and views.
  • Analyze execution plans, perform query tuning, and optimize index structures to eliminate bottlenecks in high-throughput environments.
  • Lead database release automation, code reviews, and schema migrations across various environments.
  • Monitor database health, identify lock contention, resolve deadlocks, and troubleshoot latency issues.
  • Partner with infrastructure teams to design, test, and execute cloud database migrations.

Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of experience in database administration.
  • Expertise in advanced programming and performance diagnostics.
  • Practical experience administering managed database services and cloud databases.
  • Hands-on working knowledge of database architecture, schema design, and performance optimization.
  • Proven track record of migrating on-premises databases to cloud environments.
