Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Develop backend functionalities for equipment monitoring, operational dashboards, downtime events, comments, acknowledgements, and notifications.
• Design and implement services to receive and process data from MQTT brokers, industrial systems, and external data sources.
• Develop background processing services for message consumption, event processing, and scheduled tasks.
• Implement near-real-time data delivery using REST APIs, polling, WebSockets, or other suitable technologies.
• Integrate Microsoft Entra ID authentication, including access token validation and authentication error handling.
• Implement secure Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and scope-based authorization for users, plants, production lines, and machines.
• Design, develop, and maintain database schemas, SQL queries, and data access layers.
• Implement caching strategies to improve application performance and reduce database load.
• Integrate push notification services using Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
• Ensure reliable event processing through duplicate message handling, retry mechanisms, logging, and exception management.
• Deploy, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot backend applications and services on Microsoft Azure.
• Collaborate with mobile developers, QA engineers, and cross-functional teams to define API contracts, manage integrations, and resolve technical issues.

Required Technical Skills & Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in backend development using Python or Node.js/TypeScript.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Azure and deployment of production-grade backend applications.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, API versioning, request validation, and error handling.
• Experience with Azure application hosting services such as Azure Container Apps or Azure App Service.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases such as Azure SQL and SQL Server.
• Experience with Azure Cache for Redis or other distributed caching technologies.
• Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT validation, and Microsoft Entra ID authentication.
• Experience implementing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), permissions, and resource-level authorization.
• Knowledge of asynchronous programming, background workers, and service-to-service communication.
• Understanding of event-driven architecture, message processing, and real-time communication concepts.
• Experience with Git, automated builds, and deployment processes.
• Strong debugging, performance optimization, and production troubleshooting skills.

Good to Have Skills

• Knowledge of MQTT protocol, MQTT broker integration, and IoT event processing.
• Experience with WebSockets, SignalR, or other real-time messaging technologies.
• Familiarity with Azure Key Vault, Azure Monitor, and Application Insights.
• Knowledge of Azure API Management and Azure Service Bus.
• Experience integrating push notification services such as FCM and APNs.
• Familiarity with industrial automation technologies and platforms such as Ignition SCADA, MES, OEE, or IoT platforms.
• Experience with Docker, containerization, and Azure CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of secure API design, rate limiting, observability, and distributed systems.
