- Establish clear responsibilities and working relationships with Sales, solution architecture, customer success, professional services, support, delivery partners, and customer technical teams.
- Own engagement intake, technical qualification, prioritization, staffing, and capacity planning.
- Establish standards for discovery, readiness assessment, foundation design, implementation enablement, validation, and operational handoff.
- Maintain a roadmap for improving the function’s capabilities, reusable assets, technical coverage, and customer outcomes.

Directly Manage and Develop Cloud Adoption Engineers
- Recruit, onboard, coach, and retain individual Cloud Adoption Engineers.
- Set individual goals, assign customer engagements, manage performance, and support career development.
- Provide regular feedback on technical judgment, customer communication, deliverable quality, and engagement execution.
- Build shared proficiency across OCI foundations, cloud adoption, tenancy design and landing zones, networking, identity federation, security operations integration, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Develop specialist depth within the team and assign domain stewardship responsibilities to experienced engineers.
- Validate proficiency through applied exercises, reviewed deliverables, customer working sessions, and demonstrated field outcomes.
Direct Customer Engagements and Adoption Readiness
- Guide engineers through onboarding engagement activities.
- Ensure each engagement has an agreed scope, accountable engineer, customer stakeholders, success criteria, and expected deliverables.
- Oversee discovery of customer environments, workload dependencies, technical constraints, governance requirements, and operational responsibilities.
- Ensure readiness assessments document supporting evidence, gaps, risks, recommendations, owners, and target dates.
- Guide workload disposition and migration sequencing recommendations based on foundation readiness and dependencies.
- Review engagement progress, resolve blockers, and intervene directly when technical complexity or customer circumstances require leadership involvement.
Set Technical Direction and Engineering Standards
- Provide technical oversight across OCI tenancy architecture, landing zones, networking, identity federation, security operations, observability, governance, and automation.
- Lead reviews of significant architecture decisions, design tradeoffs, exceptions, and readiness recommendations.
- Ensure designs address security, resilience, enterprise integration, cost accountability, and operational sustainability.
- Establish repeatable engineering practices using Terraform, OCI Resource Manager, version control, reusable modules, and deployment validation.
- Maintain hands-on technical depth to evaluate designs, review deliverables, and help engineers resolve complex foundational issues.
- Ensure implementation teams receive actionable technical guidance, sequenced tasks, acceptance criteria, and clear ownership.
Build Repeatability and Ensure Responsible Handoffs
- Own the CAE field toolkit, including intake briefs, discovery workbooks, readiness assessments, architecture decision records, risk registers, and handoff checklists.
- Curate existing Oracle guidance, reference architectures, training, and labs, creating new material where confirmed gaps exist.
- Ensure critical readiness gaps are resolved or formally accepted by accountable owners with documented risk.
- Require explicit operational handoffs covering receiving owners, runbooks, support paths, unresolved actions, and operational responsibilities.
- Keep the function focused on adoption foundations, coordinating application implementation and ongoing operations with the appropriate delivery and operational teams.
- Use lessons learned and customer feedback to improve standards, enablement, and reusable adoption patterns.
Measure and Communicate Results
- Establish and report measures for readiness progression, blocker resolution, engagement quality, accepted handoffs, engineer proficiency, and customer adoption progress.
- Give leadership clear visibility into demand, capacity, delivery risks, and improvement priorities.
- Build trusted relationships with customer technical leaders and executive stakeholders.
- Connect foundation readiness to faster adoption, reduced implementation risk, and sustainable OCI consumption.
Required Qualifications
