Hardware Test Automation Engineer, Electro-Optical assemblies

As a Hardware Test Automation Engineer, you will lead the development and automation of electro-optical test stations, including instrumentation selection, system integration, automated testing and calibration, and data collection and analysis to support engineering development and manufacturing in development of a photonic quantum computer.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, validate, and deploy automated electro-optical test stations
• Select and integrate optical and electrical test instrumentation
• Develop scalable Python software for automated testing, calibration, data acquisition, and analysis.
• Perform GR&R studies to ensure test accuracy, repeatability, and consistency across stations.
• Analyze device performance, production yields, and failure trends.
• Optimize test station performance, reliability, and test cycle times.
• Support manufacturing readiness through documentation, operator training, and collaboration with Operations

Experience/Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field, with 5+ years of industry experience
• Hands on experience automating optical and electro-optical test equipment, such as power meters, OBRs, OSAs, oscilloscopes, AWGs, and VNAs.
• Experience developing automate test methods, tuning algorithms, and calibration procedures.
• Strong Python programming skills, including object-oriented design, data acquisition, and analysis
• Experience using AI Tools troubleshooting and software development
• Knowledge of optical and electronic assemblies, test equipment sourcing, and high-speed electro-optical systems.
