Key responsibilities/priorities

• Accelerate application vulnerability remediation: Work hands-on with application and DevOps teams to address vulnerable open-source libraries, dependencies, frameworks, runtimes, and container components.
• Modernize dependency & software lifecycles: Drive coordinated upgrades across technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Tomcat, and application runtimes, with increased automation for discovery, recommendations, validation, and reporting.
• Embed security into CI/CD: Integrate security controls and automated validation into delivery pipelines to identify and resolve issues earlier.
• Automate vulnerability workflows: Improve finding-to-application and owner mapping, automate defect creation and assignment, and enable end-to-end lifecycle tracking.
• Apply AI-assisted remediation: Use AI to increase the speed and efficiency of vulnerability analysis and remediation.

Required technical skills

Strong hands-on engineering experience in at least two or more of the following areas:

• Java and modern Java application ecosystems
• Spring / Spring Boot and related frameworks
• Linux and container technologies
• Docker/Kubernetes container security
• CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins and/or GitHub Actions
• Software Composition Analysis and dependency vulnerability remediation
• Application security scanning and vulnerability management
• Scripting/automation using Python, Shell, Groovy, or similar

8+ We are seeking an experienced Security Vulnerability Remediation Consultant to support the analysis, prioritization, and remediation planning of security vulnerabilities across a portfolio of enterprise applications and platforms.

The consultant will work closely with Security, Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure, and IT teams to accelerate vulnerability reduction efforts and establish sustainable remediation practices.

The primary objective is to rapidly assess the current vulnerability backlog, identify high-impact remediation opportunities, define a prioritized execution roadmap, and enable engineering teams to efficiently reduce security risk.

Required Skills

Security Expertise

• 8+ years in Application Security, Product Security, or Security Engineering.

Strong understanding of

o OWASP Top 10

o CVE/CVSS scoring

o Threat modeling

o Secure SDLC

o Vulnerability management programs

Platform & Infrastructure Security

Experience with

• Linux (RHEL preferred)
• Container platforms (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Cloud and hybrid environments
• TLS/SSL hardening
• Identity and access management concepts

Application Security

Hands-on experience remediating

• Java vulnerabilities
• Tomcat vulnerabilities
• Open-source dependency risks
