Wired Network Engineer – Fabric Build

Seeking a Wired Network Engineer to install, configure, and implement wired network infrastructure across housing buildings ahead of stakeholder migration. Work includes switch installation and turn-up, structured cabling, and building out EVPN‑VXLAN fabric with L2/L3 services. The engineer will configure and manage switches via Aruba Central (templates, groups, validation), implement and troubleshoot VLANs, STP, LACP, OSPF, BGP, routing, and VRFs, and deploy fabric underlay/overlay with VSX redundancy. Responsibilities include planning and executing after‑hours/overnight migrations (pre‑checks, cutover, validation, rollback), coordinating with the Lead Wired Network Engineer to follow established design standards, documenting configs, cabling and port maps, and providing post‑migration support. Role involves close coordination with project teams, facilities, and stakeholders to schedule work and communicate progress, plus hands‑on troubleshooting during builds and migrations.

Required qualifications

• 3–5 years enterprise networking experience with Layer 2/3 (VLANs, Spanning Tree, OSPF, BGP) and working knowledge of EVPN‑VXLAN (underlay/overlay, VTEPs, VNIs, symmetric IRB).
• Hands‑on experience with fiber/copper cabling, optics, and physical switch installation.
• Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, IPAM, NTP, and TCP/IP.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
• CCNA/CCNP (or equivalent).
• Willing to work overnight/weekend maintenance windows and travel up to 50% across West Coast sites (Los Angeles preferred base).

Preferred

• Aruba networking experience (Aruba CX/AOS‑CX) and Aruba Central; Aruba certs (ACSA/ACMP).
• Experience with spine‑leaf and network overlays; familiarity with network security/firewalls/segmentation.
• Use of troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, tcpdump, iperf) and exposure to automation (Ansible, Terraform, Git).
