V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Network Engineer I for our premier client in St Louis, Missouri.

Education and Experience »

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or business.

Must-have skills

• Strong communication skills
• Working understanding of IP networking (expert level not required)
• Solid organizational skills

Nice-to-have skills

• Wireless/cellular experience
• Broader networking background (CCNA/CCNP not required)

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Job Responsibilities

• Manages all WAN-connected devices, which are either wireless (cell modems) or wired (fiber-connected routers).
• This role is the wireless side, specifically AMI (Automated Metering Infrastructure) devices.

Core focus

• Signal propagation for 900 MHz wireless networks, using the EDX software package. This is a good portion of the role.
• Cellular-connected devices that attach to the AMI system.

Day to day

• Working with field crews and vendors to deploy AMI equipment.
• Configuring cellular devices for field deployment.
• Supporting the AMI network across the full deployment lifecycle.
