About The Job

• As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services.
• You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of the biggest clients in the world.
• There’s never a typical day as a System Administrator because no two projects are alike.
• You’ll be managing systems data for clients, providing day-to-day solutions, ensuring security compliance, and overseeing a queue of assignments while delivering the best solutions to clients.
• As a Senior Systems Administrator providing Production Control support, you will review Batch Jobs and related prerequisites to promote containers into Production Control, while updating or removing irrelevant and redundant jobs.
• You will also work with z/OS Mainframe scheduling and monitoring tools to drive process improvements and operational efficiencies.

Essential Job Functions

• Provide Production Control support for batch job scheduling, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Review batch jobs and associated dependencies to ensure effective production promotion and execution.
• Manage and optimize z/OS Mainframe scheduling and monitoring tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production batch processing issues and job failures.
• Work with Production Control teams and Turn Centers to improve operational efficiency.
• Manage systems data and ensure security compliance for enterprise environments.
• Prioritize support assignments and coordinate with technical teams to deliver timely resolutions.
• Support change management processes and production deployments.
• Provide technical consultation and collaborate with other IT teams on system performance and operational issues.

Qualifications

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Minimum 6+ years of experience in z/OS System Administration environments, including work management, user management, journal management, and performance management.
• Production Control experience with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve batch job issues and abends on the Mainframe z/OS Operating System and multi-vendor products.
• Strong English communication skills to effectively handle meetings with clients, partners, and team members.
• Experience analyzing performance issues and providing technical consultation to other IT teams.
• Validated knowledge of:
• z/OS
• Unix System Services
• SMP/E
• REXX
• Java
• VSAM
• COBOL
• Third-party mainframe products
• Proven experience supporting Production Control and/or Turn Centers.
• Strong Change Management expertise.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Subject Matter Expert in Mainframe z/OS System Programming with strong problem determination and resolution capabilities.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting infrastructure and application-related issues within z/OS environments.
• Experience with IZWS, DWC, and WAPL generation.
