Scope of Services

Seeking a Data Warehouse Analyst / Report Builder to develop and optimize Power BI semantic models, dashboards, and analytical reports integrated with Snowflake. Responsibilities include creating advanced DAX calculations, writing and tuning complex SQL queries, and ensuring Snowflake datasets are modeled for reliable Power BI consumption. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable reports and operating effectively in a dynamic environment.

Primary Job Duties/Tasks

• Design and develop Power BI dataflows and semantic models using dimensional modeling practices.
• Build advanced DAX measures and analytical logic for enterprise-grade end-user reporting.
• Create user-friendly, high-performance Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries to prepare Snowflake data for reporting.
• Collaborate with Snowflake data engineering teams for optimized Power BI consumption.
• Integrate Power BI with Snowflake ensuring performance and data reliability.
• Document data lineage, metadata, and report specifications for maintainability and governance.

Job Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Knowledge of dimensional modeling and star schema design.
• Experience with advanced Power BI capabilities including DAX and data modeling.
• Understanding of Snowflake performance tuning and compute optimization.
• Ability to translate business requirements into structured semantic models.
• Proficient in writing advanced SQL queries and optimizing Snowflake datasets.
• Skill in creating high-performance Power BI reports with intuitive visual design.
• Ability to troubleshoot performance issues across DAX, SQL, and Snowflake.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of IT work experience in business intelligence tools and systems.
• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI, including advanced report design and DAX.
• Advanced SQL query writing and optimization experience.
• Proficient in Snowflake tuning and cost control.
• Experience with metadata management and data lineage.
• Familiarity with embedding Power BI reports into applications.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields, or equivalent work experience.
