Head of Data Integration

We are looking for an SAP BW and Data Integration expert to lead the delivery and operation of our SAP analytics and data-integration solutions. In this role, you will combine hands-on technical expertise with people management, guiding developers and working closely with business stakeholders, functional consultants, and technology teams. You will be responsible for effective integration between SAP BW / SAP BW4HANA and Microsoft platforms, including Azure and Microsoft Fabric, and for delivering reporting solutions. You will also be responsible for the integration of non-SAP data sources into these platforms with support from relevant technical specialists. You will work closely with other Data & Analytics team members to understand data requirements and provide reliable, business-aligned data for reporting, analytics, and AI use cases. You will also contribute to SAP transformation projects, ensure reliable production services, and develop the team’s technical capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize SAP BW data models, transformations, extraction processes, and reporting solutions.
• Oversee SAP-to-Azure integrations, reviewing Azure SQL logic and Azure Data Factory pipelines for reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Head the integration of non-SAP data sources into the Microsoft analytics landscape, including Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, and Microsoft Fabric, working with relevant technical specialists to design, implement, and support reliable data flows.
• Lead and develop the team through objective setting, performance management, coaching, and capacity planning.
• Plan and prioritize projects, enhancements, and operational support, communicating delivery commitments, dependencies, and risks.
• Work with business stakeholders and functional consultants to translate requirements into reporting and integration solutions.
• Provide technical direction through solution design, development reviews, troubleshooting, and coordination with architecture, security, and platform teams.
• Ensure reliable production services through monitoring, incident resolution, root-cause analysis, reconciliation, and controlled releases.
• Deliver analytics and data-integration activities within SAP transformation, migration, and implementation projects, including testing, cutover, and post-go-live stabilization.
• Maintain technical documentation and improve development standards, automation, recovery procedures, and knowledge sharing.
• 10+ years of combined hands-on SAP BW 7.5 or SAP BW4HANA experience covering development, performance optimization, integration design, and production support.
• Strong SAP BW development skills across DataSources, ADSOs, CompositeProviders, transformations, DTPs, Process Chains, BW queries, and Open Hub Destinations, including ABAP and AMDP-based transformation logic.
• Experience designing and supporting SAP integrations using Open Hub Destinations, APIs, OData services, and database interfaces, including incremental loading, monitoring, reconciliation, and recovery.
• Working knowledge of Azure SQL and Azure Data Factory sufficient to oversee development, review SQL logic and pipeline designs, and troubleshoot cross-platform data flows.
• Strong analytics-focused functional knowledge of SAP FI/CO, with practical knowledge across MM-PUR, SD, and HCM / SAP SuccessFactors, and the ability to translate business requirements into reporting solutions.
• 5+ years of technical leadership experience, including solution design, developer guidance, delivery prioritization, and stakeholder communication.
• 5+ years of people-management experience, including performance management, coaching, work allocation, and capacity planning.
• At least 2 SAP transformation, migration, or implementation projects delivering analytics and data-integration workstreams, covering impact assessment, development, testing, reconciliation, cutover, and stabilization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on Azure SQL and Azure Data Factory development experience, including query optimization, parameterized pipelines, orchestration, and exception handling.
• Understanding of Power BI or similar front-end analytics tools to support the data requirements of other Data & Analytics team members.
• Understanding of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to support related data and reporting requirements.
• Experience managing geographically distributed developers and coordinating delivery with international stakeholders and implementation partners.
• Working knowledge of ITIL or comparable IT service-management practices, including incident, problem, change, and release management; ITIL Foundation certification is an advantage.
• SAP BW or SAP BW/4HANA certification is an advantage.
