About the Role

A large healthcare organization is seeking a Senior Network Engineer with a strong wireless background to design, support, and secure its enterprise network infrastructure. You will lead Level 2/3 troubleshooting, drive network design and upgrades, and partner with users and the security team to keep the environment reliable and available. This role participates in a team on-call rotation (one week every 2 months, 24/7 including weekends).

What You'll Do

• Design, implement, administer, and troubleshoot wireless access points, wireless controllers, routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
• Provide Level 2/3 support to diagnose and resolve complex network hardware, software, and connectivity issues
• Monitor network performance, availability, utilization, and capacity, and plan for growth
• Perform maintenance and upgrades including patches, hot fixes, and security configurations within established change management processes
• Partner with the security team to select and implement network security tools, policies, and procedures
• Support disaster recovery operations and data backups
• Create accurate network diagrams and documentation and provide recommendations for hardware and software selection

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of network engineering experience
• Strong wireless background, including hands-on experience with Cisco wireless controllers
• CCNP certification or higher
• Strong understanding of network architecture and design
• Deep understanding of networking protocols including 802.11, BGP, OSPF, HSRP, IPSec, and QoS
• Solid understanding of the OSI and TCP/IP models
• LAN and WAN experience
• Network security experience
• Hands-on experience with network monitoring, diagnostic, and analytics tools
• Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
• Ability to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation (one week every 2 months, including weekends)

Preferred Qualifications

• CCIE and/or CISSP certification
• Experience with VPN and load balancer configuration
• Experience leading network design projects in a large enterprise or campus environment
