Platform Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Platform Engineer based in India.

As a Platform Engineer, you will contribute to building and maintaining the technical infrastructure that powers modern digital products and online services. You will work across front-end and back-end development, creating responsive user interfaces while developing robust APIs and efficient database solutions. Your role will involve translating product requirements into scalable technical solutions that enhance functionality, performance, and user experience. You will collaborate with designers and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing applications. You will also contribute to cloud infrastructure management, deployment automation, and continuous improvements across development workflows. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically curious professional to work on diverse engineering challenges and contribute to scalable product development in a remote-first environment.

Accountabilities

• Front-End Development: Design, develop, and maintain clean, reusable HTML and CSS components, ensuring responsive layouts, accessibility, and consistency with established design guidelines.
• Product Configuration & Development: Configure and manage product features through modular, version-controlled systems, ensuring flexibility, maintainability, and alignment with evolving business requirements.
• API Development & Integration: Design, build, and maintain RESTful API endpoints that enable secure and efficient access to product data for internal and external applications.
• Database Management: Write efficient SQL queries, optimize database schemas, and improve data retrieval and storage performance to support high-traffic applications.
• UI/UX Implementation: Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate wireframes, prototypes, and design specifications into functional, responsive, and interactive user interfaces.
• Code Quality & Reviews: Participate in code reviews, establish development best practices, and maintain consistent coding standards across front-end and back-end engineering activities.
• Application Performance & Reliability: Monitor application performance, identify technical bottlenecks, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to enhance system stability and reliability.
• Cloud Infrastructure & Deployment: Support cloud infrastructure management and automate deployment workflows using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and modern DevOps practices.
• CI/CD & Automation: Develop and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines to streamline development, testing, and release processes.
• Third-Party Integrations: Integrate external services and applications while ensuring secure authentication, authorization, and reliable data exchange.
• Product Optimization: Gather and analyze user feedback, identify improvement opportunities, and continuously enhance product features and technical functionality.

Requirements

• Open to candidates with 0+ years of experience, including entry-level professionals with strong technical foundations and relevant project experience.
• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and responsive web design principles.
• Understanding of front-end development practices and the ability to create clean, reusable, and accessible UI components.
• Experience building, integrating, or consuming REST APIs, preferably in production environments.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, database design, and SQL, including the ability to write complex and performance-efficient queries.
• Ability to translate product requirements and configurations into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
• Good understanding of UI/UX principles, visual hierarchy, responsive layouts, and attention to design detail.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure.
• Understanding of containerization technologies and modern infrastructure management practices.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and deployment automation is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical challenges and improve system reliability.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside designers, developers, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
• Proactive attitude, adaptability, and enthusiasm for learning emerging web technologies, development tools, and engineering best practices.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned technical tasks in a remote working environment.
