Overview

This role builds the data and compute foundation behind advanced modeling and simulation work on AWS for a federal program. You will combine data engineering with scalable cloud compute so technical teams can run heavy analytical jobs securely and efficiently.

What You Will Do

• Partner with engineers and analysts to make simulation runs faster, more reliable, and easier to repeat.
• Architect pipelines that ingest, store, and process data for simulation runs.
• Tune how very large datasets are organized, moved, and retrieved.
• Run GPU-backed and scalable compute using Amazon EC2, AWS Batch, or HPC approaches.

What You Bring

• 5+ years in data engineering, M&S, or a closely related engineering field.
• Practical AWS work on data pipelines and compute-heavy jobs.
• Proven skill designing dependable data storage and processing.
• Comfort operating in highly controlled, security-restricted settings.

Nice to Have

• Background with scientific computing or simulation platforms.
• Work with AWS Batch, HPC, GPU-enabled EC2, and large-scale scenario datasets.
• AWS Professional or Specialty certification. Security+ or CISSP also welcome.

Additional Requirements

• Current, active TS/SCI. You must also qualify for SCI indoctrination and any program-level access approvals the customer requires.
• U.S. citizenship is required under the terms of the government contract.
• You must live within a reasonable daily commute of the secure site in Herndon, VA or Washington, DC.
• Full-time and fully on-site in an accredited secure facility, with occasional visits to approved customer sites. Remote work is not an option.
