Overview

A federal program is building its next generation of secure enterprise data platforms on AWS. In this role you will make complex datasets easy to find, well governed, and useful through scalable AWS data engineering and current data architecture.

What You Will Do

• Build ETL/ELT pipelines and tune data access for analytics.
• Develop and maintain data discovery tools, schema ingestion, and the metadata catalog.
• Apply fine-grained governance, including tagging and attribute-based access control.
• Design and grow AWS data lakes on Amazon S3, Lake Formation, and AWS Glue.

What You Bring

• 5+ years in data engineering with hands-on delivery on AWS.
• Experience with data ingestion, transformation, cataloging, and lake architecture.
• Solid grasp of secure access controls and data governance.
• Comfort working in tightly controlled environments.

Nice to Have

• EMR, OpenSearch, Athena, or complex metadata management platforms.
• Zero-trust or data mesh architecture.
• AWS Professional or Specialty certification. Security+ or CISSP is a plus.

Additional Requirements

• Current, active TS/SCI. You must also qualify for SCI indoctrination and any program-level access approvals the customer requires.
• U.S. citizenship is required under the terms of the government contract.
• You must live within a reasonable daily commute of the secure site in Herndon, VA or Washington, DC.
• Full-time and fully on-site in an accredited secure facility, with occasional visits to approved customer sites. Remote work is not an option.
