JCATS Database Administrator

JOB DUTIES

Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation (JCATS) or follow on system (WARSIM), Database Manager. Responsible for planning, developing, and executing constructive simulation training activities and scenarios. Develop, manage, and maintain the simulation database, to include JCATS terrain files. Create enhanced features such as roads, bridges, buildings, vegetation, etc in the JCATS terrain files. Develop, test, and evaluate new platforms against current platforms in JCATS/WARSIM database. Monitor the simulation servers and scenario to ensure game is running and make adjustments for issues that may arise. Enter all weapons and Force data; create operational graphics and overlays for the simulation systems. Develop and enter BLUFOR/OPFOR/Neutral force structure according to doctrinal standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Experience

High School Diploma. Five years military experience or a minimum of seven years working in support of military operations, as a civilian. One year minimum experience with JCATS or other entity level combat simulation. Strong working knowledge of Linux, and Windows. In depth knowledge of military equipment, organization and capabilities. Must have or be able to obtain Security+ certification within six months.

Desired Experience

Associates Degree in a computer/information technology, or mathematics, or related field. Experience with large scale live, virtual, constructive exercises, ideally at a Combat Training Center or mission training complex. 2 years experience at a military battle simulation center.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to travel unaccompanied to continental US and foreign locations. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Will be subject to pre-employment drug screening.
