About The Job

• We are looking for a seasoned Microsoft 365 Architect with deep expertise in enterprise collaboration platforms and a forward-looking specialization in AI strategy, adoption, and governance.
• In this role, you will serve as the architectural anchor for our Microsoft 365 ecosystem while spearheading the organization's AI transformation journey — designing the roadmap, enabling adoption of AI-powered tools (including Microsoft Copilot), and establishing governance frameworks that ensure responsible, secure, and compliant AI use across the enterprise.
• This is a high-impact, senior individual contributor and advisory role that bridges technical depth with strategic thinking, working closely with business stakeholders, IT leadership, compliance teams, and end users.

Essential Job Functions

Microsoft 365 Architecture

• Design, govern, and evolve the enterprise M365 architecture across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Viva, Power Platform, and Purview.
• Define and enforce architectural standards, patterns, and guardrails for M365 workloads.
• Lead tenant design decisions including identity (Entra ID), conditional access, hybrid configurations, and cross-tenant collaboration.
• Provide architectural oversight for M365 migrations, consolidations, and greenfield deployments.
• Collaborate with security, network, and infrastructure teams to ensure a robust, resilient, and secure platform.

AI Roadmap & Strategy

• Define and own the enterprise AI roadmap for the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, with a primary focus on Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, AI Builder, and Azure OpenAI integrations.
• Assess organizational AI readiness, including data posture, licensing, skills, and cultural maturity, and translate findings into a phased, business-aligned roadmap.
• Identify high-value AI use cases across business units and prioritize them based on ROI, feasibility, and risk.
• Stay current with the Microsoft AI release cycle (Copilot Wave releases, Semantic Index, Copilot Pages, etc.) and advise leadership on emerging capabilities.
• Work with enterprise architects and data teams to ensure M365 AI capabilities are aligned with the broader AI/ML and data strategy.

AI Adoption & Change Enablement

• Design and lead structured AI adoption programs that drive meaningful usage of Copilot and AI-powered features across the organization.
• Partner with HR, Learning & Development, and business units to build AI literacy, upskilling programs, and role-specific Copilot training.
• Develop adoption metrics and dashboards using Viva Insights, Microsoft 365 Admin Center, and Copilot Dashboard to measure engagement, productivity gains, and sentiment.
• Champion a culture of responsible AI use by promoting best practices, sharing success stories, and addressing user concerns.
• Build and nurture an internal AI Champions network to accelerate grassroots adoption and peer-to-peer learning.

AI Governance & Responsible AI

• Design and implement an AI Governance Framework for M365 AI tools, covering policy, risk, compliance, and ethical use.
• Define and operationalize guardrails for Copilot deployments, including data access controls, sensitivity label alignment, oversharing risk mitigation, and prompt governance.
• Work with Legal, Compliance, and Information Security teams to ensure AI tools meet regulatory requirements (GDPR, ISO 27001, and industry-specific mandates).
• Establish processes for AI risk assessment, incident management, and continuous monitoring.
• Own the organization's Microsoft Purview posture as it relates to AI data governance, including data classification, retention policies, DLP, and audit trails.
• Define a Copilot-ready data hygiene program to ensure AI outputs are grounded in clean, well-governed content.

Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership

• Serve as a trusted advisor to business and technology leaders on Microsoft 365 and AI strategy.
• Influence executive stakeholders through architecture reviews, AI adoption roadmaps, governance recommendations, and business value discussions.
• Facilitate workshops, executive briefings, and stakeholder engagement sessions to drive platform and AI transformation initiatives.
• Provide thought leadership on emerging Microsoft technologies, collaboration platforms, and AI innovations.
• Collaborate across business, architecture, security, compliance, and operations teams to ensure successful delivery and adoption.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience architecting and managing enterprise-scale Microsoft 365 environments.
• Deep expertise in Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Viva, Power Platform, Entra ID, and Microsoft Purview.
• Strong experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, AI Builder, Azure OpenAI, and generative AI capabilities.
• Proven experience defining AI strategies, adoption frameworks, governance models, and responsible AI practices.
• Strong understanding of data governance, information protection, compliance, and security controls.
• Experience with enterprise architecture principles, cloud technologies, and digital workplace transformation initiatives.
• Exceptional stakeholder management, presentation, communication, and consulting skills.
• Ability to translate business objectives into technical architecture and AI-enabled solutions.
