We are seeking a Senior Principal Engineer Software with a focus on UX architecture and front-end technical leadership for KVM&S products and platforms. This role is responsible for defining and evolving the user experience architecture and front-end engineering approach for complex product capabilities, ensuring that solutions are usable, accessible, consistent, secure, maintainable, and aligned with product and customer needs. The candidate will work closely with Product Management, UX/design, software development, QA, architecture, DevOps, and other corporate functions to translate user and product requirements into robust user experiences and scalable front-end solutions. The role combines strategic UX technology direction with hands-on technical guidance, design governance, mentoring, and cross-team collaboration.

  • Own and evolve the UX and front-end architecture for assigned KVM&S products, defining patterns, frameworks, component structures, and integration approaches that support consistent user experiences.
  • Translate customer workflows, product requirements, and usability needs into clear technical designs and front-end implementation strategies.
  • Partner with Product Management, UX/design, and engineering stakeholders to evaluate user journeys, information architecture, interaction patterns, and design trade-offs.
  • Establish and maintain reusable UI components, design-system practices, front-end standards, and guidelines that improve consistency, maintainability, and development efficiency.
  • Guide front-end implementation for complex product capabilities, ensuring responsive behavior, accessibility, performance, security, and compatibility with supported browsers and devices.
  • Define integration patterns between UI applications and backend services/APIs, addressing error handling, data flow, state management, authentication, and system responsiveness.
  • Lead technical design reviews and evaluate proposed solutions for scalability, maintainability, testability, performance, and alignment with the broader product architecture.
  • Drive modernization of legacy user interfaces and front-end frameworks, balancing customer continuity, usability improvements, technical risk, and long-term platform sustainability.
  • Work closely with Development and Test/QA teams to define UI testability, automation strategy, regression coverage, and quality criteria for end-to-end user workflows.
  • Lead investigation and resolution of complex UX and front-end issues, including performance bottlenecks, accessibility gaps, integration defects, and customer-impacting usability problems.
  • Mentor engineers and technical leads in front-end architecture, UI engineering practices, code quality, design-system adoption, and effective collaboration with UX/design teams.
  • Collaborate across product teams to align UI patterns and shared capabilities, reduce duplication, and improve consistency across the KVM&S product portfolio.
  • Support Agile execution by clarifying technical scope, identifying UX and integration dependencies early, contributing to estimation, and helping teams deliver predictable outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity through UI automation, reusable tooling, AI-assisted development, and improved design-to-development workflows.
  • Contribute to front-end technology roadmaps, architecture standards, proof-of-concepts, innovation initiatives, and long-term product experience strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Extensive software engineering experience with demonstrated expertise in front-end architecture and delivery of complex, production-grade web applications.
  • Experience defining reusable UI components, front-end architecture patterns, application structure, state management, and API integration strategies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of usability, responsive design, accessibility, browser compatibility, and web application performance.
  • Experience with front-end testing approaches, including unit, component, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Experience with Git-based source control, code review practices, build systems, and CI/CD workflows.
  • Understanding of web application security, authentication/authorization integration, secure coding, and handling of sensitive data in user interfaces.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate complex UI, API, and cross-component issues.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership, architecture/design review, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical trade-offs to design, product, and engineering stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with enterprise software, infrastructure-management products, access appliances, device-management platforms, or related KVM&S solutions.
  • Experience working with UX designers and product teams to establish design systems, interaction standards, user workflows, and usability validation practices.
  • Experience modernizing legacy front-end applications and introducing reusable component libraries or shared UI platforms.
  • Knowledge of web accessibility standards and practices, including WCAG, and experience improving accessibility in enterprise applications.
  • Experience integrating complex web applications with REST/gRPC services, authentication systems, event-driven updates, and large or frequently changing datasets.
  • Experience with front-end performance profiling, observability, browser developer tools, and systematic UI troubleshooting.
  • Experience with automated UI testing tools and frameworks, and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience collaborating with distributed development, QA, DevOps, product, and architecture teams.
  • Experience applying AI-assisted engineering, workflow automation, or design-to-code tools to improve UX engineering productivity.
  • Experience leading technical initiatives across multiple teams and influencing front-end technology direction and engineering standards.
