Secret-Cleared Embedded Software Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking Secret-Cleared Embedded Software Engineers in Baltimore, Maryland for one-year onsite contract-to-hire roles supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. These positions will develop, integrate, test, and maintain real-time embedded software supporting advanced mission systems.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
• Active U.S. Government Secret clearance required.
• 6+ years of experience developing software using C/C++.
• 6+ years of experience developing real-time embedded software.
• 6+ years of experience supporting the full software development lifecycle, including:
• Requirements/specification
• Design
• Implementation
• Integration
• Debugging
• Maintenance
• Experience developing and executing unit tests and software verification activities.
• Experience integrating and testing software on simulators, laboratory systems, or production hardware.
• Ability to identify software risks, defects, and technical issues and develop appropriate resolutions.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required Special Program Access.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with VxWorks and/or Linux.
• Experience with algorithm development and optimization.
• Experience with Electronic Warfare, Built-In-Test, or calibration software.
• Experience with MATLAB.
• Experience with Visual Studio.
• Experience with static-analysis or code-quality tools such as Coverity, SonarQube, or Klocwork.
• Experience with open-architecture solutions.
• Experience with the Atlassian tool suite.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience with Model-Based Engineering.
• Experience with DevSecOps and Agile development practices.

What You’ll Do

• Analyze, develop, and modify embedded software supporting mission systems.
• Design and implement software primarily using C/C++.
• Support all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Develop and execute unit tests and verification plans.
• Integrate, debug, and verify software using simulation environments and production hardware.
• Work with multidisciplinary engineering teams in system-integration laboratories.
• Identify technical risks and software defects and develop mitigation or corrective actions.
• Participate in software design, architecture, peer, and system reviews.
• Evaluate new technologies and development approaches.
• Support Model-Based Engineering, Agile, automation, and DevSecOps initiatives.
• Help ensure software requirements are satisfied from an end-to-end system perspective.

• 9/80A schedule

Pay

• $76.21 per hour.
