Python Software Engineer

Pay Range

$60/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain production-quality software primarily in Python.
• Build scalable backend services, APIs, libraries, and automation frameworks for infrastructure and network management.
• Apply modern software engineering practices including code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, version control, API design, and software lifecycle management.
• Troubleshoot complex software and distributed-system problems and implement sustainable fixes.
• Develop software solutions for enterprise DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (DDI/IPAM).
• Create APIs and workflows for managing DNS records, DHCP configuration, and related network resources.
• Build integrations between DDI/IPAM platforms and various systems to automate network-resource onboarding and configuration.
• Implement monitoring, metrics, logging, and health-check capabilities into network-management services.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Strong Python programming skills and professional software development experience.
• Experience designing and developing production backend services and applications.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, subnets, routing, VLANs, DNS, and DHCP.
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or similar technologies.
• Strong Linux development and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to take ownership of a software service from architecture and development through deployment and production operations.
• Experience with enterprise DDI/IPAM platforms such as Nautobot, NetBox, Infoblox, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
• Experience with Kubernetes, containers, and cloud-native application development.
• SRE or DevOps experience.
