Job Description

Seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer – Healthcare Clinical Data with strong hands-on expertise in Databricks, Snowflake, PySpark/Spark, and healthcare clinical data standards. This is a domain-focused engineering role requiring strong knowledge of healthcare data, including EHR/EMR systems and clinical terminology standards.

The selected candidate will develop and maintain scalable clinical data pipelines, integrate healthcare data sources, and build analytics-ready datasets supporting predictive analytics and machine learning initiatives. The role involves working with client stakeholders, data architects, data science teams, and offshore engineering teams.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Apache Spark, PySpark, and SQL.
• Healthcare clinical data expertise, including EHR/EMR data such as encounters, diagnoses, procedures, laboratory results, and medications.

Healthcare data standards

HL7, FHIR, CCD, ICD-10, CPT, LOINC, SNOMED, and RxNorm.

• Experience developing ETL/ELT pipelines and integrating healthcare data sources.
• Hands-on experience with Delta Lake and Lakehouse/Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
• Experience with clinical data transformation, standardization, mapping, and data quality validation.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, PHI security, healthcare data governance, and access controls.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Databricks Unity Catalog and Databricks Workflows.
• Azure or AWS cloud data engineering experience.
• Experience preparing clinical datasets and features for predictive analytics and machine learning.
• Experience with healthcare use cases such as readmission risk, risk stratification, and care gap analysis.
• Snowflake and Spark performance optimization, workload monitoring, and cost optimization.
• Experience with data lineage, reconciliation, exception handling, and production pipeline troubleshooting.
• Experience coordinating engineering delivery in an onshore-offshore model.
