Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Azure Platform and Cloud Engineering Consultant to supplement our Infrastructure Services team during a period of accelerated cloud adoption and application onboarding.

This individual will provide senior-level technical engineering support across Microsoft Azure platform services, Kubernetes operations, cloud networking, application onboarding, and hybrid infrastructure initiatives. The consultant will work alongside our internal infrastructure, security, and application teams to assist with implementation, operational support, troubleshooting, automation, and engineering delivery activities associated with multiple concurrent cloud initiatives.

The role is hands-on and execution-focused. We are looking for an experienced engineer capable of independently contributing within an established Azure landing zone architecture rather than a project manager or architect.

Primary Responsibilities

Azure Platform Engineering

• Support Azure landing zone operations and governance.
• Assist with Azure subscription onboarding and service deployment activities.
• Implement and support Azure networking components including VNets, subnets, NSGs, Private Endpoints, DNS, routing, and hybrid connectivity.
• Support Azure RBAC and identity integration activities.
• Assist with Azure monitoring, logging, and operational support.

Kubernetes and Container Platform Support

• Support Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments.
• Create and maintain namespaces, policies, quotas, and workload configurations.
• Assist development teams with application onboarding to AKS.
• Troubleshoot container deployment and runtime issues.
• Support Azure Container Registry (ACR) integrations and image lifecycle management.
• Assist with platform security hardening and workload identity implementation.

DevOps and Automation

• Develop and maintain deployment automation using Infrastructure-as-Code principles.
• Assist with Azure DevOps pipeline creation and troubleshooting.
• Support application deployment automation and release processes.
• Create operational scripts using PowerShell and Azure CLI.
• Document deployment and operational procedures.

Operational Engineering

• Assist with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) administration and troubleshooting.
• Provide Tier-3 engineering support for cloud-hosted solutions.
• Participate in troubleshooting of production and non-production environments.
• Create operational runbooks and knowledge-transfer documentation.

• 3+ years of Azure engineering experience in enterprise environments.
• Experience supporting regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, or insurance.
• Experience operating production Kubernetes environments.
• Experience implementing secure Azure networking and identity solutions.
• Familiarity with application onboarding and platform support models.
• Experience collaborating with infrastructure, development, and security teams simultaneously.
